Expectation: To provide protection against hazards which cannot be removed, sites have standards for PPE, high visibility clothing, (personal) lights and alerting devices required in operational areas which are documented and communicated in a style that is appropriate for the audience.
Specify: Information on required personal protection equipment is prepared to meet site and task requirements. This includes:
- Preparing induction material covering general requirements for PPE
- Area specific inductions covering hazards and required PPE in the work area
- Task related PPE training for specialist PPE for activities where threats can not be reduced through elimination or engineering including: Working at height; Confined space entry; Handling and being near toxic chemicals; Electricians working on or near potentially energised components; Emergency response
- Inspection and checking techniques for all related PPE
