1. BI-02P.30 Regular and timely maintenance of communications systems equipment - Expectation
Operating sites have highly reliable communications equipment that supports safe and productive mobile equipment operations.
How do we currently meet this expectation? Is it relevant to us?
If No to question 1 above please provide details
Why doesn't BI-02P.30 expectation not apply?
1.1 - Specification
Please provide details of where the specification can be found. Provide specific references, that is text which requires this Business Input - not just a document name.
Maintenance strategies related to communication systems are in place for all vehicles on site - covering availability and condition of vehicle mounted and handheld devices. The signal coverage of the Communication system is also assessed on a regular basis.
1.2 - Implement
Describe how the Business Input is implemented. Is it adequate, consistent, reliable, and repeatable? Do people know what is expected of them?
Work orders for equipment on site are completed in a timely manner, and communication systems are given a higher priority, with more frequent proof testing and replacement.
1.3 - Monitor
Please provide details of how the status of the Business Input is monitored.
This should include how comms systems are highlighted as priority items, and the level of over-sight provided by more senior personnel on site.

Site infrastructure is protected from unplanned contact with mobile equipment.
Is the expectation of this Business Input relevant in your circumstances?
If No to question 2 above please provide details
Why doesn't BI-03S.05 expectation not apply?
2.1 - Specification

When constructing roads near infrastructure, hazardous locations or work areas the documented requirements include placing windrows, bunds or physical barriers (designed to reduce injury threats if struck (i.e. rounded and/or frangible)) - and where these cannot be placed (e.g. for overhead lines) then warning devices (over height alarms, cable balls, geo fencing etc.), or vision enhancing components (mirrors, translucent ventilation curtains etc.) are installed.
2.2 - Implement
Describe how the Business Input is implemented. Is it adequate, consistent, reliable, and repeatable? Do people know what is expected of them?
Barriers and warning devices that protect site infrastructure from contact with mobile equipment are installed as designed.
Protection types include physical barriers that prevent contact through to warning/vision enhancing devices to enhance vehicle operator's situational awareness.
2.3 - Monitor
Please provide details of how the status of the Business Input is monitored.
Requirements for inspection, work area standards and peer review of conformance with design protocols could be identified.
